Jointly founded by Kunshan Guoxian Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. and IVO holding Limited on July 12, 2005, InfoVision Optoelectronics Kunshan Co., Ltd. is located in the National Grade Optoelectronics Industry Park of National Grade Kunshan Economic and Technological Development Zone. Total investment was 1.6 billion USD, and Guoxian took 51% of equities. IVO holding InfoVision Electronics (Kunshan) Co., Ltd.and ViewSil Microelectronics (Kunshan) Limited. The company is a high and new technology enterprise, the third in China engaging in the R&D, manufacturing and sales of G5 LCD panels.

Founded in July 2008, the institute has a 3,000 square-meter R&D building of its own and a 320 square-meter pilot line for finished products. It runs a series of advanced labs for metrological work, electro-mechanical systems, integrated design, reliability tests and malfunction analyses. It is equipped with cutting-edge R&D and testing devices, such as an EMI measurement platform and software for deploying array/CF. The institute is manned by a team of 300 well-trained R&D engineers, 90% of whom hold degrees related to the panel technology and 30% hold masters or doctoral degrees. Meanwhile, the research institute accounts for more than 3% of Infovision Optoelectronics' annual revenues. The R&D budget is meant to establish the company at the forefront of the industry in China.
The institute consists of a committee of technology experts, a technology department, and a financial department. Under the technology department are the product design and R&D center, the advanced technology R&D center, the key component R&D center, the testing center and the talent-cultivation foundation. Because of such a well-established structure, the institute has been able to develop cutting-edge technology and achieve success in many research projects.
The DMS system, an optical measurement device designed and manufactured by AUTRONIC-MELCHERS, is capable of conducting integrated measurements of the optical characteristics of LED panels, including chromaticity, chromaticity coordinates, absolute chromaticity and visual contrast. With module control functions, it can also conduct gamma tests as well as tests on grayscale response time.
The MAX CR, designed by the institute itself, is an optical measurement device combining the SR-3A control procedure. It mainly tests the cell-rubbing angle and the polarizer's rotation angle, so as to optimize the contrast offered by the modules.
The ESD generator tests resistance to ESDs in electronic products. This device conforms to GB/T17626.2 and IEC61000-4-2 standards and supports a voltage range as high as 30KV for the testing of contact discharge and air discharge to verify the resistance strength to ESDs in our products, meeting the stringent demand for high quality and performance records.
This device facilitates the design in two major fields of “optical radiation measurements”: “photometry” and “colorimetry.” It is one of the key devices for light and color measurements owing to its integrated functions, making it suitable for testing weak light sources, such LEDs, enabling speedy and precise assessment of luminous efficiency and luminous flux of a light source to shorten the development cycle.
This device delivers correct measurements and assessments of light and color uniformity in all kinds of tablet display products. Measurements are quantified to achieve standardized quantification of resolution inspections, excluding subjective variation coming from human vision to reach the goal of scientific testing.
The electrical measurement platform with probe is an integrated measuring device based on semiconductor parameters. It is used to measure the characteristics of components and materials. In addition to supporting the measurement of electric resistance, capacitance and L-V curves inside TEG and panels, it is capable of analyzing problems during product development and mass production, and providing precise parameters for newly established verification and quality standards.
It is a three-coordinate measuring machine, meaning in a hexahedral space range, it is able to measure geometric shapes, lengths and circumferences to the sub-degree level. It is also called a bed-type three-coordinate measuring machine.
The institute’s 3-meter electricity-generated anechoic chamber was constructed by TDK, the world-renowned manufacturer of anechoic chambers, in May 2010. It performs radiated EMI measurements for electronics products and runs at the frequency of 7GHz at the highest. It helps to accelerate product development and reinforce the design of systems.
Jiangsu Province Flat Panel Display Industry Innovation Strategy Alliance was founded, following the advocacy of the Technology Department of Jiangsu Province, by 32 backbone enterprises, universities and institutes such as Infovision Optoelectronics Kunshan Co., Ltd., Kunshan Visionox Display Co., Ltd., Suzhou BOE Suzhou BOE CHATANI Electronics Co., Ltd., Nanjing CEC Panda Information Industry Group, Beijing University, Qinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Nanjing University, Kunshan Industrial Technology Research Institute. It is an organization for innovations and development of flat panel display industry and is open for flat panel display enterprises, universities and institutes of the whole province.
As one of the backbones for the flat panel display industry in Jiangsu Province, IVO was approved by the Technology Department of Jiangsu Province as the first-term Chairman Unit of Jiangsu Province Flat Panel Display Industry Innovation Strategy Alliance because of its huge driving effect. Oriented on the national strategy on the industry and the demand of the industry for technological innovation, based on verified and multi-layer independent R&D and cooperative innovation, targeting at the improvement of core competitiveness of the industry, IVO would further promote and perfect the communication and cooperation inside the technological alliance of the industrial chain of flat panel display, for joint engagement in the breakthrough in flat panel display technologies and the bottleneck of the industry, working hard to reach the overall target of flat panel display industry in Jiangsu Province of high starting point, new technologies, large scale and strong supporting industry, and boost the overall level of Chinese flat panel display industry.
