The development of TFT-LCD has provided better visual experiences and wider color gamuts. With the demand for bigger-size and lower-price displays growing, the sizes of glass substrates used in the production of TFT-LCD have been expanding. It has evolved from the 1G line producing panels on 320mmX400mm substrates to the currently most advanced 10G line working on 3130mmX2880mm substrates. Within a period of less than 20 years, the area of the substrate has expanded more than 70 times, and the panel production has evolved from the capability of rolling out only a single 15-inch unit from an entire 1G substrate to six units of 65-inch TV panels from a single substrate.
Infovision Optoelectronics has built the largest 5G TFT-LCD line in China, adopting 1100mmX1300mm glass substrates. It has a full capacity of processing 120,000 glass substrates per month. The product specifications range form 2.7-inch to 27-inch, offering applications for notebooks, monitors, TVs, automotive industrial controls, consumer electronics (smartphones, tablets), and so forth.
